The 2008 British Fashion Awards took place on November 25 at Lawrence Hall in London, and was well attended by designers and celebrities alike. Organized by the British Fashion Council, the event celebrates those who have contributed to the fashion industry in the UK.
Claudia Schiffer, Christian Slater, Emilia Fox, Erin O'connor, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Jade Jagger were among guests who walked the black carpet; the event was hosted by Mariella Frostrup and sponsored by Swarovski.
Former fashion journalist-turned-designer Luella Bartley nabbed the lucrative Designer of the Year award after less than a decade in the business, while milliner Stephen Jones was recognized on November 11 for his Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design.
